TOP 10: Best ROI for job search efforts?

Hi all!

I am curious where you have found the most ROI for where you have invested your time into your job search:

1. Networking at industry educational events.

2. Networking at recruiting/job search specific events.

3. Networking at general business events.

4. 1-1 networking/referrals.

5. Informational interviews.

6. Direct contact with potential employers.

7. Working with local professional recruiters.

8. Using online job search sites (Monster, etc).

9. Posting your resume on industry association sites.

10. A combination (by %) of any of the above.

I always tell people that finding a job is a full time job and to approach it much in the same way as you would finding a new client or landing a project. It requires a lot of time, consistent effort, diversified activity channels and LOTS of relationship building/networking without the expectation of personal gain. I recommend focusing on all of the above avenues, with the majority focus on networking options and working with a solid recruiter. Has that worked for you? Has it failed miserably? What has worked for you? What is missing from my list?

Thx!
